Reading Growth Plans

At Reading With Ms. Joy, students are supported through individualized Reading Growth Plans, structured, multisensory learning plans grounded in the Science of Reading and designed to build foundational skills, fluency, and confidence over time.

These are not one-off tutoring sessions. Families choose a Reading Growth Plan that matches their child’s current reading needs, and instruction is delivered consistently and intentionally to support measurable progress.

Each Reading Growth Plan is tailored to your child, so learning is focused, structured, and designed for lasting growth.

Ms. Joy will facilitate access to the online training but will request that parents independently monitor their child’s training and progress. While Ms. Joy will check in periodically to provide oversight, she will not be consistently monitoring home software training.

An optional CLOVER Screener is available for families who want additional insight into their child’s foundational decoding skills before beginning a Reading Growth Plan.

This is available as a standalone screener or can be used before enrolling in a Reading Growth Plan.

What I Can Expect From You

Consistent Participation

Consistent attendance and participation are important for meaningful reading growth. Regular engagement helps students build skills, confidence, and instructional momentum over time.

Scheduling Commitment

Reading Growth Plans are designed around ongoing, regularly scheduled instruction. Families are asked to maintain their agreed-upon schedule whenever possible to support instructional consistency and progress.

Flexibility and Communication

Reading Growth Plans provide consistent, ongoing instruction through reserved session times and a set number of monthly sessions based on your selected plan.

Understanding the Scope of Support

Understand and acknowledge the instructional focus and objectives of our Reading Growth Plan. Prospective families must thoroughly review and acknowledge the terms and conditions outlined in the registration form. Full virtual reading therapy support requiring daily sessions is not currently offered.

Impact of Long-term Tutoring

Long-term, high-impact tutoring intervention produces significant learning gains in foundational reading skills. Monthly reading plans alone cannot definitively lead to mastery learning.

Impact of Long-Term Structured Literacy Coaching

Long-term structured literacy coaching provides the consistency, depth, and instructional support children need to develop strong foundational reading skills. Ongoing instruction builds decoding strength, improves fluency, and supports the development of confident, independent readers.

My Approach

Structured literacy coaching is grounded in evidence-based practices, including principles of the Orton-Gillingham approach. Instruction focuses on phonological awareness, decoding, spelling, and fluency, and is tailored to each student’s individual learning needs.

The goal is to build confidence, independence, and steady reading growth over time.

 Assessment and Instructional Scope

Screening tools used through Reading with Ms. Joy are designed for instructional planning purposes. They may help inform reading development and identify skill patterns, but are not comprehensive evaluations.

I do not provide formal diagnoses of dyslexia or other learning differences.
